Return to Paradise by Simone Elkeles

4 out of 5 Stars!

Doing something positive will help turn your mood around. When you smile, your body relaxes. When you experience human touch and interaction, it eases tension in your body.

Simone Elkeles would have to be right up there as one of my favourite authors, her books never disappoint and always leave you wanting more. Leaving Paradise left me in tears and I was very eager to start Return to Paradise to see how Maggie and Caleb's story would finish. Once I started reading this I couldn't stop, everything that was happening was so powerful and frustrating. I lost count at how many times I wanted to slap Caleb my goodness what an infuriating bastard he was. I kinda wish there was a separate series for Leah and Julio, I would have loved to have read more about them.

It has been 8 months since Caleb left Paradise and the truth about the hit and run incident was revealed to Maggie. Caleb once again finds himself in trouble with the law and once again he hasn't actually done anything wrong. Caleb is thrown a lifeline when his old parole officer Damon comes in and helps him out. The only condition is that to avoid jail time Caleb will have to join the Re-Start group, a group for kids whose lives have been affected by reckless teen driving. Caleb not wanting to face any more time in jail takes Damon up on his offer but there was one thing he wasn't expecting, Maggie.

Maggie decided to join the Re-Start group after finding out that she would have a permanent limp for the rest of her life without any hope of a full recovery. The last person she expects to see standing there is Caleb. Maggie hasn't seen or heard from Caleb in over eight months and although she doesn't want to be anywhere near him there is no way that she is dropping out of this group. Maggie needs this group and figures it's only four months and then Caleb can walk out of her life again so it should all be a walk in the park. Then Caleb opens his mouth and Maggie realises that this is definitely not going to be easy.
